Free Meal Operation Benefits Casual Workers in Ambon

Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) and the Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) Maluku once again distributed meal packages through the Free Meal Operation on Thursday (12/24). Hundreds of free meals were distributed to casual workers in the Ambon City area.

ACTNews, AMBON - Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) and Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) once again distributed meal packages to the casual workers. This time, the meal distribution reached casual workers in the city of Ambon whose livelihood has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

"In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, not only businessmen or companies have been affected by the pandemic, but also small traders and casual workers like pedicab drivers, parking attendants, and motorcycle taxi drivers. Hence, we are carrying out this Free Meal Operation to share with them," said Safri Zainudin Bugis, Coordinator of the Free Meal Operation.

Partnering with, hundreds of people benefitted from the free meal distribution on Thursday (12/24). One of whom was Grandma Sia who works as a hawker on Jalan Sultan Baabullah Ambon City. She was very grateful to receive the meal package from ACT. "Thank you for the food," said Grandma Sia.

The Free Meal Operation began in Ambon in the month of April. At that time, around 500 meal packages were distributed.

"We hope that this action can continue as a form of our support for casual workers and underprivileged people who have experienced difficulties during the pandemic. Therefore, we are inviting the benefactors to support this program through BNI Syariah at 88 0000 4451 in the name of Aksi Cepat Tanggap Maluku, or through the Indonesia Dermawan website," said Safri.
