Free Meal Operation Supports the Struggle of Healthcare Workers in South Tangerang

ACTNews, SOUTH TANGERANG — Aksi Cepat Tanggap, through Free Meal Operations, distributed 300 meal packages to the health workers at South Tangerang Regional Hospital, Friday (7/30/2021). Nutritious meal packages cooked by the Humanity Food Truck were served for healthcare workers who are struggling to treat patients.

Rodi from ACT South Tangerang Program Department explained, ACT South Tangerang strived to provide meal packages for the community during the activity restrictions.  “Healthcare workers are among our main targets. They are a group that we must continue to support in handling the Covid-19 pandemic," said Rodi.

Rodi hoped that this free meal distribution served as a gesture of kindness to the community and a form of sympathy. "Hopefully, elements of the community will come to care about our struggle to distribute free meals," he said.

One of the PICs who handled the distribution of meal packages at the South Tangerang Regional Hospital said that there were around 300 meal packages that were distributed to all staff members of South Tangerang Regional Hospital.

Head of Administration at the South Tangerang Regional Hospital Khusnul Amanah expressed her gratitude for the free meals. Working at the forefront to threat COVID-19 patients, the healthcare workers really need adequate and balanced nutritional intake.

"We are very grateful to ACT and all parties who have provided food assistance for health and non-health workers at this hospital. Thank you for showing great sympathy. Let us help each other during this pandemic. Hopefully, we can all get through this situation," said Khusnul.

In addition to South Tangerang Regional Hospital, ACT South Tangerang also delivered free meals to self-isolating residents as well as scavengers and peddlers.

In the month of August, ACT South Tangerang plans to deliver meal packages to several areas in the city such as scavenger settlements and Covid-19 red zones. []
