ACTNews, SOUTH JAKARTA – At Eid-ul Adha, Global Qurban-Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) team continues to intensify the distribution of Qurbani meat. The beneficiaries were impoverished residents in South Jakarta. Global Qurban-ACT distributed thousands of packages of the best quality Qurbani meat from Generous Friends.

Muhammad Albar from ACT South Jakarta program team explained that there were five distribution areas in South Jakarta: Petogokan Village, Pasar Manggis, Jagakarsa, Lenteng Agung, and North Cipete. About six thousand poor residents felt the benefits of this action.

“Most of the beneficiaries are underprivileged residents who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. They are casual workers whose income is reduced during the pandemic. Some even had to be laid off because their company was having a reduction in employees,” said Albar, Sunday (7/25/2021).

Albar said the beneficiaries were grateful for the distribution of Qurbani meat. They rarely eat meat in their daily lives. Meat is a very luxurious meal for them.

Nita, a beneficiary of Qurbani meat, is a single parent who works as a freelancer. She only eats meat when her neighbors give it. Usually, she and her family only eat simple dishes. “Alhamdulillah, I am happy to get Qurbani meat. Thank you, Global Qurban-ACT. Hopefully, there will be another Qurbani here so that we can eat meat again," said Nita. []
