ACTNews, SOUTH TANGERANG – Qurbani of this year’s Eid ul-Adha was special since the current emergency caused by the pandemic becomes an opportunity for Sahibul Qurban (people who perform Qurbani) to share their wealth. In Pondok Betung area, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang, Global Qurban-ACT in collaboration with local mosques and residents slaughtered 16 cows and 21 goats.

The team delivered 1,700 packages of meat directly to the residents’ houses for two days, Tuesday (7/20/2021) and Wednesday (7/21/2021). Gratitude was expressed by the Head of Al-Barkah Mosque Board Pondok Betung. “I am very grateful and happy because many impoverished people here can be assisted,” he said.

Although it took more time to deliver the meat packages to each house, they did this to avoid crowds to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Branch Manager of ACT South Tangerang Agus Subandi said that the number of Qurbani animals was quite a lot, so that could be very beneficial in this situation. He hopes there will be more people to be motivated to help others.

“In this year's Qurbani, we want to massively expand the benefits to the community. Hopefully, in the future, all elements of society will be more motivated to collaborate in other humanitarian actions,” concluded Agus.[]
