REGENCY – Before the eruption of Mount Semeru, Misman (44) used to sell
meatball soup using his cart. His business was running quite smoothly, and he
was able to make ends meet and even buy a house.
Unfortunately, the
volcanic eruption that occurred in early December has destroyed his house and
many of his belongings. "I immediately ran to safety. I didn’t think about
my house and belongings,” said Misman, Tuesday (1/4/2022).
He was thankful to
be alive and well although he lost many of his belongings. He returned home
only to find it decimated. In addition, his cart that was his source of
livelihood was also badly damaged.
To help ease Misman’s
difficulties, Global Wakaf – ACT provides a cart for him through the Productive
Business Waqf program. Hopefully, this new cart can help him get back on his
feet.
Insha Allah, I
will use this cart to peddle meatball soup again. I will strive to rebuild my
life,” said Misman, smiling as he received the assistance. []
