ACTNews, TANGERANG – Global Wakaf-ACT carried out basic financial business record training for dozens of MSME owners and the beneficiaries of Waqf for Indonesian Micro Businesses program in Cibodas District, Tangerang City. The training was held in the government office of Cibodas DIstrict on Thursday (5/27/2021).
“Specifically, it was the calculation of Basic Production Cost, then monthly operational cost, as well as the monthly earned margins and profits. Hopefully, the beneficiaries can calculate their business finance correctly," said Utomo Pranoto from the Wakaf Entrepreneur Academy team.
Pranoto, who is in charge of the trainer that day, said that many MSME owners haven’t realized the importance of targeting and setting aside their own income for every month. Hence, what has been earned by these MSME owners were just the remaining profits that have been used and not recorded.
“We want them to allocate their own salary. They shouldn’t be unpaid for the businesses they run by themselves. That’s the main mission we want to achieve from this training,” explained Utomo.

The training could be carried out thanks to the collaboration between the Social Security Program (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan), the Government of Cibodas District, and the MSME community of Cibodas Jasa. The participants were very enthusiastic with the given materials from the trainers and assistants.
One of them was Maria, a herbal beverages business owner in Cibodas as well as the beneficiary of WMUMI program. She often joined similar training sessions and that day, aside from the given capital assistance, she admitted that she got a lot of new knowledge from the training.
“Alhamdulillah, through the Global Wakaf-ACT, the micro-businesses like mine can continue to run amid the pandemic situation. Therefore, there is no need to complain, to stop, or nothing to lose, so we can always do our best for our business," said Maria at the end of the training she participated in.
The training for MSMEs itself is one of the facilities provided by Global Wakaf-ACT to the beneficiaries of WMUMI program. In addition to training and business capital assistance, regular assistance is also provided to encourage MSMEs to keep running amid the pandemic difficulties.
