ACTNews, BOGOR – The welfare of Indonesian honorary teachers still needs to be taken care of. Many of them receive a salary that is not commensurate with their struggle in educating students at school. As a result, Global Zakat-ACT regularly provides financial and food assistance to prosper honorary teachers in Bogor.
Wahyudi from ACT Bogor Program team said that on Wednesday (8/11/2021), his team delivered another assistance to honorary teachers in Bogor. A total of 16 dedicated underprivileged teachers received financial assistance from benefactors.
“Alhamdulillah, yesterday, we visited those great teachers who sincerely serve themselves in education. A total of 16 dedicated underprivileged teachers received financial assistance from benefactors through Global Zakat-ACT,” said Wahyudi, Thursday (8/12/2021).
According to Wahyudi, teachers who received the assistance also create a forum called Friends of Indonesian Teachers (FSGI) for gathering, discussing, and act together in the field of humanity in the future.
“They come together feeling that they have the same fate and concern. In the future, they are also committed to carrying out humanitarian social activities to help people in need. This spirit should be followed by other honorary teachers,” he explained.
As of August 9, 2021, a total of 552 actions to help underprivileged honorary teachers have been carried out by Global Zakat-ACT in 373 villages in 27 provinces in Indonesia. In addition to honorary teachers, financial assistance is also provided for preachers in remote areas across the country.
