ACTNews, DELI SERDANG - As many as 13 farmers in Dusun 5 Kebun Baru, Hamparan Perak Village, Hamparan Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, received business capital assistance from Global Wakaf - ACT North Sumatra. Through the Waqf for Micro Business Capital program, Global Wakaf-ACT North Sumatra distributed capital assistance of IDR 2,000,000 for each farmer.
This was the first distribution of Waqf-based capital from Global Wakaf-ACT North Sumatra. Sakti Wibowo from the ACT North Sumatra Program Department explained that the lives of farmers in Hamparan Perak Village are quite saddening. The pandemic has resulted in the difficulty of purchasing fertilizers and other agricultural chemicals. In the last two months, the farmers haven’t been able to plant their farms due to the rainfalls that often flood the farms.
"We hope that the assistance can be used as best as possible for their farming needs, not for their basic needs," said Sakti.
