ACTNews, KHAN YOUNIS – Ali* and his family could not hide their joy when Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) volunteers visited their house to hand out food packages. They were surprised to see that the packages were full of foodstuffs. For Ali, the food aid is very precious because, according to the local ACT volunteers in Gaza, Ali’s family is living in poverty.
He has to support 10 family members. They have no adequate house, and fulfilling basic needs has been a struggle for them. Ali and his children suffer from asthma. He yearns for a proper place for his family to live.
“Thank you for the food aid”, said Ali happily, getting the foodstuffs outside the boxes that has “IHC” written on them.
Such joy was also expressed by Ahmed*. On Monday (4/8), Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) volunteers in Gaza also visited Ahmed’s house. Ahmed, who has three children, lives in a simple rented house. For five months, he has not been able to pay the rent. Even for them to be able to eat every day is difficult.
“We have children to feed. They can’t go to school because I have no money. We have been asking for help to several humanitarian foundations but none have responded,” said Ahmed.
Indonesia is still reaching out its helping hand for Gaza. The food packages from Indonesia reached impoverished families in Gaza. On Monday (4/8) and Tuesday (4/9), hundreds of food packages from the Indonesia Humanitarian Center (IHC) were distributed to the people living in Qarara in Camp Khan Younis, Gaza Strip.
The food packages from the IHC aim to alleviate the sorrow of the Palestinians living in poverty and humanitarian crises. The aid packages have brought joy to the recipients.
IHC in Gaza is an aid distribution center that provides aid packages for the Gazans. The distribution will be done regularly, aiming to benefit 1,000 families each month. Since its first distribution in March, aid distributions from the IHC have reached several refugee camps.
“This month, the food packages from IHC reached 220 families in Khan Younis. The food packages were given to the poor families in Khan Younis who consist of refugees,” reported Andi Noor Faradiba of Global Humanity Response (GHR) – ACT.
IHC in Gaza is an aid distribution center initiated by ACT and the people of Indonesia for Palestine. The IHC had been prepared since early 2019.
