
ACTNews, BOGOR – Several areas in Bogor City and
Bogor Regency have been hit by storm since Monday (9/21). Several areas were
flooded, including Muara Hamlet in Cibunian Village, Pamijahan District.
One of the affected residents, Ustadz
Hendra, told the volunteers of Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) Aksi Cepat
Tanggap (ACT) Bogor that, after the rain that lasted from the afternoon until 8
p.m. later that evening, flood submerged the houses in the hamlet located at
the estuary. "Initially, the storm began after asr prayer. The water in
Cianten and Cisakati overflowed and flooded our houses,” said Ustadz Hendra who
is a teacher at Ta’limul Quran Islamic boarding school. The flood of 1.5 meter high
also submerged his boarding school.
He added, this flood is the third in the last
20 years, in 2003, 2016 and 2020. He added that the last flood was the worst.
The MRI and ACT Bogor volunteers
immediately conducted an assessment and distributed emergency aid in the form
of foodstuffs on Tuesday (9/22). Currently, the residents are in need of emergency
aid, including food, clean water and sleeping mats.
ACT Bogor Program Coordinator Khisnul
Hasanah invited the community to immediately help flood victims in Muara Hamlet.
