ACTNews, JAKARTA – The Humanity Care Line from Aksi Cepat Tanggap continues to expand its assistance. From January 11 to May 16, 2021, a total of 559,855 people benefited from this waqf rice distribution service.

Most of the waqf rice distributions took place in Jakarta, with 419,170 people benefiting from the Humanity Care Line. East Jakarta recorded 91,135 beneficiaries, North Jakarta 82,740 people, Central Jakarta 57,440 people, South Jakarta 94,135 people, and West Jakarta 93,720 people. With this high number, it indicates that there are still many Jakartan residents who live in difficulties in meeting their food needs.

Meanwhile, in other cities, such as Bekasi, the total number of people who have benefited from this service has reached 23,705 people. In Depok, there are 67,656 beneficiaries and South Tangerang 49,415 beneficiaries.

From January 11 to May 16, a total number of 335,913 kilograms of waqf rice has been distributed. "This Ramadan Care Line program not only benefits the recipients of the rice, but also opens job opportunities. There are hundreds of people who end up working in various sectors to support this service. The majority of them are couriers whose job is to deliver the rice from ACT to the beneficiaries,” said the Head of the Waqf Distribution Center (WDC) Pungki M Kusuma, Monday (5/17/2021).

Pungki explains the rice distributed is the best quality waqf rice. "We buy farmer's rice at the best price so that the farmers, Insha Allah, will still get a higher profit compared to selling it elsewhere," said Pungki.
