ACTNews, GAZA - A massive truck drove through
the Erez crossing on the northern border of Gaza Strip, Monday (3/2). The truck
will later be modified into a mobile kitchen, a Humanity Food Truck operated by
Aksi Cepat Tanggap.
ACT partner in Gaza, Rabah Bekhit, said that
this truck will serve up to 1,000 beneficiaries per day. "There will be
free, prepared meals for underprivileged families and orphans in Gaza,"
Rabah said.
Humanity Food Truck in Gaza is an effort
to support the food security of the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza strip.
Rabah said the Gaza Strip is still experiencing economic crisis as a result of
Israel's 13-year blockade, leading to poverty and inability to buy basic needs.
The recent escalation in Palestine has
garnered attention from the international community. Andi Noor Faradiba from
the Global Humanity Response (GHR) team - ACT said that the assistance for the
Palestinians took various forms. "There is the food aid for the Al Aqsa safeguards
and winter aid packages. We also provide free medical service every day for the
Palestinians in Gaza through the Indonesian Medical Clinic. ACT also has an
ambulance procurement program, "Faradiba said.
Previously, to provide food for the
Palestinians, ACT set up an Indonesian Public Kitchen that produces up to
thousands of meal packages a day. The food aid is distributed to schools,
underprivileged residents, and homes for orphans.
ACT also distributes staple food packages
for the Palestinian people through the Indonesia Humanitarian Center. ACT also
has the Humanity Water Tank and Waqf Well to provide clean water for the
Palestinians. []
