ACTNews, BOGOR REGENCY – The Humanity Food Truck continues to give food to those in need. On Saturday (9/25/2021), Aksi Cepat Tanggap’s Humanity Food Truck visited Cikal Citra Indah Mosque, marking its first visit to Jonggol District of Bogor Regency.
Thirty volunteers from Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) were involved in the production and distribution of the meal packages. Three hundred meal packages were given away to the congregants and the locals around the mosque.
“I feel very happy and proud of this program. Hopefully, the benefit of this kind of program can be felt by the passers-by and the residents of Citra Indah," said Agus Abdurrahman, Chairman of the Citra Indah Mosque Forum.
The distribution of meal packages by the Humanity Food Truck is part of the Free Meal Operation that ACT launched at the onset of the pandemic. The food is cooked by professional cooks, supported by the contribution from the benefactors.
Matharir Qathafi from ACT Bogor Program Department said that the meal distribution is expected to help the local residents amidst difficulties caused by the pandemic. It can at least save the beneficiaries’ money because they don’t need to buy lunch.
Rusdi, an online motorcycle taxi driver who received a lunch package from the truck, expressed his gratefulness for the free lunch. His income has been drastically declining since the pandemic began. "It's really hard just to earn IDR 20,000. I spend IDR 15,000 on gas just to get a passenger," he said.
