ACTNews, TANGERANG REGENCY – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Tangerang Regency continues to carry out humanitarian actions in the midst of the pandemic. In late September, the truck visited Cituis Seafood Market in Pakuhaji District of Tangerang Regency, Tuesday (9/28/2021).
The living of the local fishermen has been negatively affected by both the pandemic and severe weather. Although the seafood market has always been busy with up to 80 ships unloading their catch from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day, they don’t catch that much. These days, they catch only 1-3 kilograms of fish and other seafood every day.
To help lessen their burden, ACT’s Humanity Food Truck was deployed to help the fishermen. Ridwan Marsudi of ACT Tangerang Regency Program Department said that, hopefully, the meal distribution can lessen the burden on the fishermen and local residents.
“We prepared lunch packages from the Humanity Food Truck. The beneficiaries were fishermen, local residents, and nearby casual workers," explained Ridwan.
On that day, a total of 300 meal packages were distributed to the joy of the locals. “Thank you to our friends from ACT and Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) as well as the donors,” said Suriyadi from Cituis Seafood Market Management.
