ACTNews, JOMBANG – Indonesia has just lost one of its most honored citizen. Dr. Ir. K.H. Salahuddin Wahid or familiarly called Gus Solah, brother of the late President Abdurrahman Wahid, died on Sunday (2/2). He was interred in a family graveyard at Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, Jombang.
Thousands of mourners attended the funeral. Additionally, for seven days until Saturday (2/8), people have been coming for Takziah , a gathering to commemorate and pray for the deceased. People are coming to the Islamic Boarding School and the graveyard to express condolences and pray for the deceased.
As a form of respect and condolences for Gus Solah, Aksi Cepat Tanggap sent the Humanity Food Trucks to serve the visitors and students at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School. The Humanity Food Trucks had been sent directly from Magelang since Wednesday (2/5) to prepare 1,000 servings of free meals every day until Saturday (2/8), the seventh day after Gus Solah's passing.
"Since Wednesday (2/5) the Humanity Food Trucks have provided free meals for visitors and students at Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School. The Humanity Food Trucks will be on standby for up to 7 days after Gus Solah's death," said Wahyu Sulistianto Putro, ACT East Java Branch Manager.
Wahyu added that the free meals were expected to help mourners and students to get food intake during the takziah. "The presence of these trucks is also a tribute and condolences for the passing of one of Indonesia’s best sons," Wahyu added.
A warm welcome was expressed by Gus Fahmi, one of the caretakers of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School. "On behalf of the big family of Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to ACT for supporting the event of takziah for Gus Solah. May ACT be blessed and more well-known by the community,” said Gus Fahmi.
