Hundreds of Houses in Malang Inundated after Heavy Rain

Based on the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Malang City, 230 families are affected, causing locals’ activities to be hampered.

ACTNews, MALANG — Extreme wheather occurred in Malang City since Tuesday (10/19/2021) and inundated a total of 230 houses. Heavy rain triggered flooding and puddles in several areas.

"The affected area in Blimbing District includes Blimbing, Purwantoro, and Bunulrejo Villages," said Head of Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center of BNPB, Abdul Muhari in an official statement, Thursday (10/21/2021).

Meanwhile, based on the data from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Malang City, 230 families are affected, causing locals’ activities to be hampered.

InaRISK Malang City shows the potential flood risk in the medium to high category. BPBD informs the public to be aware of the threat of the hydrometeorological disaster. Entering the rainy season, the public is advised to stay alert to the danger of flooding in case of the occurring severe intensity rains.[]
