ACTNews, TASIKMALAYA - The Food Alms Gathering Point at Ciangir Landfill of Tasikmalaya is always full with beneficiaries. Open twice a week, the Food Alms Gathering Points is filled with the beneficiaries every time it operates. Over 100 people benefitted from the food distribution on Friday (10/23)
The Food Alms Gathering Point in Ciangir Landfill has been running since August 2020. Having operated for almost three months, there are many unique stories shared by the Food Alms Gathering Point team.
The spirit of sharing for the needy is reflected in the people of Tasikmalaya’s generosity as they come to share whatever they have, as reported by Coordinator of the ACT Tasikmalaya Program Team M. Fauzi Ridwan.
"Alhamdulillah, the spirit of mutual cooperation is quite strong among the local community. Some come to ACT Branch Office bringing packages of rice, tofu, even just some eggs, but they are sincere in supporting the Food Alms Gathering program. It really cheers us up that generosity can grow out of the simplest of things,” said Fauzi.
Fauzi also invited the whole community to get involved in supporting the Food Alms Gathering Point in their respective vicinity or through ACT Branch Offices. For Tasikmalaya, the benefactors can send foodstuffs directly to ACT Tasikmalaya Branch Office on Jl. Cimulu No.15 Tawang Tasikmalaya City. One can also give cash donation via BNI Syariah bank account at 88 0000 9277 in the name of Aksi Cepat Tanggap,” added Fauzi.
Eruk (63), one of the beneficiaries stated that, in the midst of current economic crisis, he felt helped by the Food Alms Gathering Point. Eruk hoped that one day he can also give alms through the Food Alms Gathering Point. "I also have the desire to give charity to help others. But I can't do anything. I don't have anything to give. Hopefully, one day Allah will enable me to give, "hoped Eruk.
