ACTNews, GAZA – The chant of takbirat marked the end of Ramadan 1443 AH as Muslims around the world began celebrating their spiritual triumph against their lower selves. In Palestinian territories, happiness shone on the faces of the people of Gaza. They were happy not only because of the auspicious day of Eid Al-Fitr, but also because of the generosity of the Indonesian people that reached the people in need through Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT).

In Gaza, Eid packages were given to children, each containing new clothes and toys. Some 200 Eid packages were distributed to orphans and children from poor families.

"Thanks to our donors, the Palestinian children can celebrate their Eid with new toys and clothes. To entertain the children, the Eid package distribution also featured clowns. The children looked very happy and entertained," said Andi Noor Faradiba from Global Humanity Network - ACT, Thursday (4/5/2022).

Meanwhile, the day before Eid al-Fitr, the ACT team distributed zakat-ul-fitr from the Indonesian donors to the beneficiaries in Gaza. Faradiba explained that the zakat distributions were carried out in several locations including Sheikh Radwan, Gaza City, Om Al-Nasr, and Jabalia in North Gaza.

"Insha Allah, the zakat funds from the donors can be used by the beneficiaries to meet their daily needs, including buying new clothes for their children. In total, there are 2,165 beneficiaries in Gaza who received zakat-ul-fitr through ACT on this year’s Eid," said Faradiba.

In addition to donating cash, ACT also invited the beneficiaries to shop directly at a supermarket in Gaza City for free. They could choose whatever items they would like to buy.

"Zakat-ul-fitr is an obligation that must be paid by every Muslim in the month of Ramadan. It’s important not only to pay it but also to make sure that it is implemented in a way that will have a positive impact on the recipients," said Faradiba. []
