ACTNews, BALIKPAPAN – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) East Kalimantan carried out Indonesian Children Nutrition Operation (OGAI) in Jabal Rahmah Mosque, Prapatan Village, Balikpapan District, Balikpapan City. There were parents and students from Al Madinah Kindergarten and Elementary School, Balikpapan who received education about balanced nutrition on Tuesday (11/23/2021).

During the education session, ACT also invited a nutritionist Indah Sulistyorini, S.Gz.various activities related to children’s health were carried out including nutrition counseling and nutritious meal distribution.

According to Indah, cooperation between children and their parents is important in order to educate their children about healthy and nutritious food. “Children are usually fed by their parents with their favorite or even just simple dishes without paying much attention to the nutrient content which becomes one of the reasons for malnutrition,” Indah explained.

Therefore, ACT responds through the OGAI program. During the OGAI program that day, students were taught to understand the healthy food concept which continued by distributing dozens of nutritious meal packages including rice, side dishes, and vegetables to the students.

Indah also appreciated the OGAI program. “Insha Allah, through ACT’s Indonesian Children Nutrition Operation, we can educate a lot of families to provide balanced nutrition for each family member,” said Indah.

OGAI program aims to realize healthier Indonesians and ensure that the country’s future has received proper nutrition intake.[]
