Inspired by ACT, MRI West Jakarta Provides Volunteer Food Stall

MRI-ACT West Jakarta provides a Volunteer Food Stall with all-you-can-eat and pay-as-you-can concept.

ACTNews, WEST JAKARTA – Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI)-Aksi CepatTanggap (ACT) West Jakarta opens a Volunteer Food Stall for daily workers and underprivileged residents. This food stall is inspired by ACT that continuously assists people through various Free Meal Operation actions.

On Monday (8/16/2021), Volunteer Food Stall has been provided for the community.

“It crossed my mind that it would be good if MRI West Jakarta can have a place to exchange ideas or a discussion room. So, the idea came up to continue the humanitarian action, we finally created this Volunteer Food Stall,” said Head of MRI West Jakarta, Muhammad Taufik when contacted by ACTNews, Monday (8/23/2021).

The stall is located 600 meters from MRI West Jakarta branch office, next to Srengseng Village Office.

The food stall targets informal or daily workers including online taxis, street sweepers, and impoverished people. It is possible for the food stall to be opened to the public.

“All of the dishes here are free of charge, but we also want to encourage others to send alms, so we can call this Volunteer Food Stall carries out the all you can eat and pay as you can concept. We have provided a donation box there,” said Taufik.[]
