ACTNews, LEBAK - Floods and landslides that hit
Lebak Regency on Friday (12/6) affected three hamlets in Citorek Kidul Village,
Cibeber District. These three hamlets are Ciusul, Bojong Mangu, and Citorek Hamlets,
which were isolated due to the floods and landslides.
On Sunday (12/8), Aksi Cepat Tanggap
distributed aid packages to affected residents in the three hamlets. "We
are distributing aid packages to as many as 30 families in the three hamlets
that are isolated. The aid included blankets, mattresses, home care supplies,
proper clothes, and instant food," said Sukma from ACT Banten Program
Team.
The villagers are currently still in need of instant food, blankets, and needs as well as a number of tools such as hoes, dustpan and cleaning tools. Until now, access to their villages has been cut off so they are still expecting more aid to come to meet their daily needs.

"Most of them are not directly
affected by the floods and they remain at home now because they are far from
the disaster site. However, the access to these hamlets are blocked so that the
villagers are still waiting for the debris to be cleared by heavy equipment
from the government," explained Sukma.
Nine of the families who received
assistance had to evacuate because their houses were damaged by floods and
landslides. They now have to stay in the homes of their closest relatives.
The locals were grateful for the aid from
ACT. Ompreng, one of the victims who works as a miner said that the disaster
that struck the Citorek Kidul Village was not a threat to their lives, but it
threatens their livelihood.
"This disaster did not cause
casualties, but it severely affects our source of income. Our food and clothes were
destroyed, so were our rice barns, rice fields, plantations, and our lost
livelihoods," Ompreng said.
Reported by Kompas, the floods hit Lebak
