Israeli Military Shoots Palestinians During Weekly Protests

Abdul-Rahman Yasser Shtewi and Mahmoud Al-Adham were shot by Israeli military during weekly protest in Kafr Qaddum and Beit Hannoun respectively.

ACTNews, WEST BANK - A video showing the people of Kafr Qaddum carrying a boy named  Abdul-Rahman Yasser Shtewi (10) was circulating. The child was shot in the head with live ammunition by Israeli military on Friday (12/7).

As AFP news agency reported, the Palestinian health ministry confirmed that Shtewi was in critical condition, after being shot in the head with live ammunition.

Shtewi was shot during a protest held by the local Palestinian townspeople. For years, Palestinians in Kafr Qaddum, a town in the northern West Bank, have held weekly Friday demonstrations in protest of the closure of the town's main access road.

An unidentified eyewitness told AFP that Israeli forces used violent tactics to break up the protest on Friday. Israeli military defended its actions, saying that it used “riot dispersal means” in the town.

In North Gaza, another Palestinian was shot by the Israeli forces during the weekly Great March of Return protest. Mahmoud Al-Adham (28) was shot by the Israeli army at the fence east of the town of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip.

Palestinian health ministry stated that Adham succumbed to his wounds after being rushed to Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahiya. []
