ACTNews, GAZA – At the beginning of Ramadan, through Ramadan Food Alms Movement, Aksi Cepat Tanggap distributed iftar meals to Palestinians in Gaza and Jerusalem. However, when hundreds of meal packages had been prepared for the Palestinians, suddenly ACT volunteers and several Palestinians were disturbed by Israeli soldiers who didn’t allow the meals to be distributed in the Al-Aqsa Mosque Complex.
Moreover, many of the soldiers took the meal packages for themselves which were supposed to be distributed to the Palestinians in need. This sparked a quarrel between Israeli soldiers and ACT volunteers and the locals.
Said explained that on Tuesday, the meal distribution was held in two different places, which were Jabalia camp area, North Gaza, and the courtyard of Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Aside from those two places, Said said that the iftar meal packages were also immediately distributed to the beneficiaries’ houses.
A number of Israeli soldiers are gathering and debating with ACT volunteers and locals (ACTNews).
“From the assistance of Indonesian benefactors, we can provide nutritional iftar meal support. Food aid becomes very valuable for the Palestinians because the Palestinian underprivileged families can barely afford nutritional meals due to the financial struggle they face,” explained Said.
