Joy for Mustafa on Friday Blessings

Grandpa Mustafa’s money was actually not enough to buy a grocery package from Cheap Food Operation that day. However, thanks to a benefactor who gave his sustenance, Mustafa could finally get in line for the cheap package.

ACTNews, BANDA ACEH – After peddling for a half-day, Mustafa, a 70 years old man, parked his junk cart and took a little rest at Baiturrahmah Mosque, Gampong, Keuramat, Kuta Alam District, Banda Aceh. He was resting while waiting for the call of Friday prayer that day (10/29/2021).

Every day, Mustafa peddles his cart from Ceurih Ulee area until Gampong Keuramat to make a living. He usually earns IDR 20 thousand from scavenging and works side jobs as a mower and cleaner for his neighbors’ houses.

“My highest income is around IDR 50 to 100 thousand after doing side jobs such as cleaning up people’s yard once in a while. The least I usually get is only from scavenging where I only get IDR 10 thousand,” said Grandpa Mustafa.

However, not long after resting, Mustafa got up and approached Cheap Food Operation which was being held by Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) in the courtyard of Baiturrahmah Mosque.  Mustafa’s money was actually not enough to buy a grocery package from Cheap Food Operation that day. However, thanks to a benefactor who gave his sustenance, Mustafa could finally get in line for the cheap package.

“Thank you very much, son. May Allah give you a lot of sustenance. Alhamdulillah, I can bring a grocery package to my wife at home,” said Grandpa Mustafa. Happiness was clearly shown through his face, showing his teeth which have been eroded with age. Mustafa then left to perform the Friday prayer.
