ACTNews, BANJARMASIN - The people of Kuin Kacil Hamlet, Mantul Village, South Banjarmasin Regency, were very happy to welcome Eid Al-Adha 1441 AH. After five years of waiting, they can finally savor qurbani meat.
Head of RT 14 RW 01 Masrudin told Global Qurban - ACT South Kalimantan on Saturday (8/1) that the locals had not savored qurbani meat for years due to the village’s remote location.
"We are very grateful. Alhamdulillah for the qurbani in our village. We have been waiting for a long time just to be able to eat qurbani meat,” he said.
With his voice shaking, Masrudin told the team that the locals mostly work as laborers and fishermen. They have no steady income to make ends meet.

"The residents are very happy because they have been yearning for it, especially the orphans and the elderly here who rarely eat beef,” he said.
Global Qurban – ACT South Kalimantan Branch Manager Zainal Arifin said that Kuin Kacil was chosen as one of the qurbani distribution locations for these reasons. He hoped that the community can feel the blessing and happiness of Eid al-Adha like other Muslims.
"Global Qurban - ACT slaughtered the cattle for the Kuin Kacil residents. Hopefully this meat can make them happy on the day of Eid al-Adha," added Zainal.
Qurbani meat packages were distributed directly to the residents' homes to avoid crowds and large gathering in compliance with the COVID-19 health protocol.
"We follow the health protocol during the slaughtering and distribution of the qurbani meat amid the pandemic,” added Zainal.
Apart from Kuin Kacil, qurbani distribution was also carried out in Basirih Dalam, Banjarbaru, Tanah Laut, Tanah Bumbu, and Hulu Sungai Tengah. Zainal thanked the qurbani donors and asked for their further support in providing assistance assistance to people in need in South Kalimantan.
"We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the benefactors who donated to to Global Qurban - ACT. Hopefully, you can continue supporting us in other humanitarian programs to support the people in need,” he concluded.
