ACTNews, BOGOR – Global Zakat-ACT provided financial assistance for Kukun Kurnia, an honorary teacher in one of the junior high schools in Ciampea, Bogor Regency, Wednesday (8/4/2021). He has to find extra money because his salary as a teacher is small. He used to work as a belt seller, and now, he works as a stone crusher laborer to meet his needs.

The salary that Kukun receives from his profession as an honorary teacher is IDR 300 thousand per month and is paid once every six months. Kukun has no other choice but to accept sincerely.

“I received a salary of IDR 300 thousand and was deducted IDR 25 thousand for administrative costs. I receive my salary every six months, twice a year. I am grateful that I am still healthy,” said Kukun, Wednesday (8/4/2021).

His small salary makes Kukun look for additional income. He used to sell belts at the night market. However, since the Covid-19 pandemic and due to activity restriction, he no longer sells his sales.

"Because of Covid-19, there is no night market. I decided to peddle my sales, but the results were uncertain and rarely sold. Now, I work as a stone crusher laborer in the river. I get paid IDR 50,000 a day,” said Kukun. []
