ACTNews, SUKABUMI REGENCY – Maryati and her friends took the initiative to establish Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) two years ago as a form of concern about the religious education of children in her village. She and her friend founded Nurun Nabila Alkatam Kindergarten in 2019.

The school, located in Tenjojaya Village, Cibadak District, Sukabumi Regency, is dedicated to underprivileged children. The Kindergarten operational fund mostly comes from donors who are friends of Maryati.

“The donors are my friends. One of them is a friend who works as a migrant worker in America. There is a tuition fee of IDR 10,000 per child every month. However, it doesn't always run smoothly because the majority of students come from impoverished families," said Maryati when met by ACT Sukabumi Regency team. The team delivered financial assistance to her, Wednesday (9/8/2021).

Dani Firdaus from ACT Sukabumi Regency Program Team explains that the salary in Nurun Nabila Alkatam Kindergarten is uncertain. Teachers get salaries around IDR 300 to 400 thousand per month.

"They are still enthusiastic and happy to teach children the Islamic teachings even though the salary is small. Their enthusiasm and dedication to Islamic education should be an example," he concluded.[]
