ACTNews, BOGOR
– The construction of sanitation and clean water facilities as part of
disaster recovery efforts is essential. For this reason, Mercy Relief collaborated
with Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) to build sanitation facilities and access to
clean water in Bogor Regency.
According to Mercy Relief’s Head of International Program Khairunizam, the availability
of proper sanitation facilities and easy access to clean water could improve
people's lives.
"We hope that
through the installation of water pipes, small reservoirs, water storage, and
distribution tanks, construction of public toilets with stalls and washing basins,
it is hoped that people who have difficulty in sanitation and clean water due
to natural disasters can benefit from it,” he said, Monday (2/21/2022).
Khairunizam
continued, ACT has proven to be competent in dealing with humanitarian issues.
In addition, ACT is a leading institution that provides effective total
disaster management, including disaster mitigation, emergency response, and
post-disaster recovery. This is in line with the mission of Mercy Relief
Limited.
"With the right plan, we are assured that our project is in good hands both in terms of monitoring and implementation," he said.

Previously, Mercy
Relief has partnered with Aksi Cepat Tanggap in various programs. In early
2020, Mercy Relief and ACT worked together in helping the victims of flooding
in Jakarta, Banten, and Bogor by distributing food, clean water, cleaning
equipment, and solar-powered lamps. Mercy Relief also collaborated with ACT in
two health intervention and support projects during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dessi Arisanti
from ACT's Partnership Team for Asia and Oceania expressed her gratitude for
Mercy Relief Limited's concern for sanitation and clean water problems in Indonesia
as well as Mercy Relief Limited's trust in ACT.
"Hopefully
this good cooperation can continue so that we can solve the community’s
problems together," she explained.
