ACTNews, BATAM – June 14 is celebrated every year as World Blood Donor Day. The celebration is a reminder that helping each other through blood donation is very necessary. Especially in an emergency, the donated blood can save someone's life.

With the spirit of sharing, the volunteers of Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia-ACT Batam also commemorated World Blood Donor Day. In an activity titled Donate Your Blood for Humanity, the MRI volunteers and other Batam residents donated blood at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Building on Jalan Cempaka, Batam Center, Batam City, Monday (6/14/2021).

This activity was met with good response from PMI Batam City. The Secretary of PMI Batam City Asmin Patros thanked ACT and MRI volunteers for their blood donation. He hopes that, apart from blood donation, other collaborations can be carried out continuously.

“Sharing and helping is not only in the form of wealth but also in the form of blood donation. What we give will be very meaningful for those in need," said Anizul.

Previously, blood donation activities have also been carried out by ACT in various regions in Indonesia. In addition, a blood donation was also held in Gaza at the end of May. The donated blood will be handed over to the authorized institution to be distributed to the people in need.[]
