MRI Tasikmalaya Discusses the Dangers of Dengue Fever

Amid an increase in dengue fever cases in Tasikmalaya, MRI medical team volunteers conducted socialization and education to residents about the disease's dangers. The team also distributed Food and hand sanitizer to residents in need.

ACTNews,  TASIKMALAYA – Dengue fever (DHF) cases have been reported throughout the year. Tasikmalaya is no different. According to data from the Tasikmalaya City Health Office on February 6, 328 cases of dengue have been discovered since the beginning of 2022. Even in 2021, the City of Tasikmalaya was listed as one of the top ten national regions with the highest dengue deaths. This fact should be a source of concern for all of us to keep the environment clean and prevent the occurrence of new cases.

In response to this situation, the Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) team in Tasikmalaya discussed the dangers of dengue fever in Rahayu 1 Village, Sukahurip Village, Tamansari District in early March. MRI medical team, who are members of the Healthy Living Community, organized the event (MAHAT). Hundreds of residents took part in this activity.

According to Yenyen Apriani, Head of MRI Medical team, this socialization and education is a monthly event at predetermined locations.

"This activity took place in areas where dengue fever cases are possible. We hope that this meeting will raise public awareness and understanding of the importance of environmental stewardship and the dangers of dengue fever," Yenyen stated on Wednesday (3/2/2022).

MRI distributed Waqf Rice, praying garments, and hand sanitizer to residents in need, in addition to educating them about the dangers of dengue fever.[]
