ACTNews, JAKARTA — The Covid-19 pandemic has contributed to the soaring numbers of hunger among people around the world including Indonesia. The high mobility of the community during the activity restriction defines that people have to risk their lives so as not to starve.
Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) together with Campaign (a social-based start-up in Jakarta) make a challenge through the #AwasMubazir campaign. This campaign exists to create new habits in the community so people can always finish the food they eat.
Through the #AwasMubazir (Beware of Being Wasteful) campaign, people can make a small contribution in creating a big positive impact in our lives. The campaign will teach us to be grateful for every food we ate.
“The challenge initiates people to be grateful for the meals they ate that day so that it will not be wasted,” said Qanitah Putri Calista from Social Media Marketing of Central MRI, Friday (9/24/2021).
People can participate in this challenge by taking pictures of their meal plate before and after eating and make sure that after finish eating, the plate is clean from leftovers.
By doing this challenge, the pictures of before and after meal plates will be converted into a donation of IDR 10,000 which is sponsored by Yayasan Dunia Lebih Baik (Better World Foundation). Then, it will be continued by distributing meal packages to the informal workers.
“Please make sure that you have completed the challenge for a straight seven days since there will be a giveaway of five awesome t-shirts for the lucky winners,” said Qanitah.
The challenge has started since September 22, 2021, and will continue for the next three months up to December. Everyone can join this challenge by accessing this link bit.ly/IkutAwasMubazirChallenge.
