ACTNews, TASIKMALAYA - Rancamaya Hamlet is located amid dense bamboo forest
that almost hides it from plain sight. The neighborhood is inhabited by around
350 residents, mostly work as informal laborers such as stone crushers, brick makers,
and woven basket makers.
When the
pandemic hit, many of the villagers have to inevitably deal with the
consequences. Their income decreases. Some even lost their jobs altogether,
such as those working as stone crushers because when the activities at the When
the pandemic came, inevitably these daily workers experienced a decrease in
income, often even losing their jobs. Especially those who work as stone
breakers. They have stopped workings since the producer that needs their job
stopped operating.
Less than seven
days before Iduladha, there had been no residents of Rancamaya Hamlet who has
prepared qurbani animals, as revealed by Zai Suhendi, head of RT 01 Rancamaya Hamlet
who is also the Chairman of Nurul Fahmi Mosque Board.
"This year is still like the previous years. No one has prepared their qurbani. Last year, if there hadn’t been any qurbani from Global Qurban - ACT, maybe in 2019 we would not have performed qurbani," he said on Sunday (7/26).

In previous
years, Zai said, no one in the village has ever performed qurbani to the extent
that Zai himself loses count of how many years the hamlet has been empty of
qurbani.
"I have almost
forgotten from what year has this village been empty of qurbani. Alhamdulillah,
last year, we received qurbani animals from Global Qurban - ACT. I hope that,
this year, there will be benefactors who are kind enough to perform qurbani or
distribute qurbani animals here. May Allah also facilitate anyone who intends
to perform qurbani this year," added Zai.
M. Fauzi Ridwan
from the Global Qurban – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Tasikmalaya Program Department
said that his team plans to distribute qurbani animals to Rancamaya Village. He
hoped that there will be people who can show their kindness on this year's Eid
al-Adha through their best qurbani animals.
"Bismillah,
we are working together on that matter. And we are also inviting anyone who
wants to share happiness on this year's Eid Al-Adha in Rancamaya Village
through its best sacrificial animals. May Allah make it easy for all
benefactors to be able to bring the best qurbani here," said Fauzi. []
