ACTNews, JERUSALEM – The footsteps of the Palestinian Muslims were wholeheartedly moving to the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. However, for no specific reason, the Israeli armed forces came and tried to disperse the congregants, Monday (5/10/2021) or before the 29th night of Ramadan.
According to the report sent by Aksi Cepat Tanggap Palestine Team, the Israeli armed forces used shock grenades by throwing them at the congregants. A loud explosion was heard not long after the grenade was thrown, causing panic among the congregants.
The fully armed Israeli forces also shot tear gas at the worshippers. The smoke began to billow. The more grenades shot, the thicker the smoke that covered the area around the mosque.
Sounds of explosions, screaming, and children’s weep were heard in Al Aqsa Mosque Compound. Some who were running for their lives were hit by rubber-coated bullets.
The Israeli armed forces pointed their weapon indiscriminately. Those who tried to fight back were thrown, dragged, and handcuffed by force.
The Israeli armed forces who just wanted to target the congregants around the Al Aqsa Mosque compound stormed into the mosque while shooting tear gas at the congregants who were praying. They didn’t care about the status of the Al Aqsa Mosque which is the third holiest place after Makkah and Madinah for Muslims.
The worshippers scattered, running out of breath due to the tear gas shot by the Israeli armed forces. “Tens of Palestinians were injured. Some suffered from severe injuries in the Al Aqsa Mosque right now,” said the Branch Manager of Aksi Cepat Tanggap Palestine Tahany Ahmed Qasim, Monday (5/10/2021).
Furthermore, according to the report from Tahany, the Israeli armed forces have blocked the ambulances that were about to enter Al Aqsa Compound and prevented them from treating the injured Palestinians.
On the 29th night of Ramadan, the President of Aksi Cepat Tanggap Ibnu Khajar stated that the attacks from the Israeli armed forces were an act that was very saddening for Muslims. He encouraged the Indonesian Muslims to give their best support to the struggling Palestinians in Jerusalem.
“There, they (the Palestinians) just wanted to worship, to get the blessings in the remaining Ramadan. However, that simplicity seems very difficult for them to get. Therefore, help from every Muslim is very needed for them to keep them strong in protecting Al Aqsa,” said Ibnu.
