ACTNews, BREBES - In the midst of heavy rain that poured on Manbaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Benda Village, Sirampog Subdistrict, Brebes, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) and Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia(MRI) paid a visit to implement the Rice for Indonesian Santri (BERISI) program. On Wednesday (1/8) afternoon, at the pesantren’s mosque, a ton of rice was given to the students.

The rice from the benefactors distributed through ACT was received directly by Kyai Miftahuddin as the head of the Islamic Boarding School. He expressed his gratitude to ACT and MRI that day for the BERISI program.

In his speech, Kyai Miftahuddin encouraged his students to be more active in studying. As a caregiver for the students who study to memorize the Qur’an, Kyai Miftahuddin hopes that this assistance can ignite the students’ enthusiasm so that they can memorize the Qur’an more quickly.

"You should be more grateful because you have been given the rice aid by ACT. Not all students receive such an aid, so you have to be able to study harder. You have to frequently review what you have memorized frequently so you can memorize all of the Quran quickly," Kyai Miftahuddin said to his students.

About 100 students attended the handover of the rice. With a smile on their faces, some of these students symbolically received the rice from the ACT team.

On a separate occasion, Adinda Fiqih Damayanti from the ACT Tegal program team said that the aid of a ton of rice was a form of appreciation to the students who are studying at Manbaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School.

"For a few days, we have been distributing the rice in pesantrens Tegal and Brebes. We then reached Sirampog subdistrict to distribute rice to the students of Manbaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Benda Village. There are about 100 students who are studying there. As an appreciation, ACT distributed 1 ton of rice to them," she said. Adinda hoped that, with this assistance, the students can be more encouraged and diligent to learn the Quran. []
