Pakati 96 TNI/Polri and ACT Carry Out Social Service in Yogyakarta

Apart from Jakarta and Surabaya, Pakati 96 TNI/Polri carried out social service in Yogyakarta. Hundreds of food packages were distributed to the underprivileged people.

ACTNews, YOGYAKARTA – Commemorating their 25th anniversary,Perwira Karier Angkatan Ketiga year 1996 (PAKATI 96) along with Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) distributed staple food packages to the underprivileged people in Yogyakarta. A total of 500 food packages were distributed as part of the social service by PAKATI 96.

In Yogyakarta, the social service was started with the release of aid vehicles and bicycling from Kodim Yogyakarta to the location of the social service ceremony in Canden Village, Jetis, Bantul. Later, the distribution of this food aid will also spread to Yogyakarta, Sleman, Bantul, up to Klaten, Salatiga, Solo, and Semarang. In addition to underprivileged residents, this assistance was also distributed to the families of PAKATI members who have passed away.

Colonel Lieutenant Tjatur as the Chief Organizer of the Social Service stated that the activity was held in commemoration of PAKATI 96’s anniversary as a form of gratitude to the Almighty. "This activity is also a realization of helping underprivileged residents who are currently experiencing difficulties amid the Covid-19 pandemic," he said.

Apart from Yogyakarta, the same activities have been carried out simultaneously in five different regions; Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, Cianjur, and Jakarta. The peak ceremony will be held in the TNI Headquarters on June 19, 2021.

Kharis Perdana from Aksi Cepat Tanggap DIY team said that he was so happy to be able to collaborate with PAKATI 96 to expand goodness. Especially amid the pandemic situation, it is required to make a great collaboration in helping the community. “The distributed staple food packages contain Waqf Rice and Waqf Drinking Water which are the products of the good waqf funds management from the community," he explained.

In the future, Kharis hopes that together with all elements of society, especially the Indonesian armed forces and police, they can collaborate with the spirit of Uplifting Indonesia Together echoed by ACT, since assistance from generous benefactors is very needed amid the ongoing pandemic.[]
