ACTNews, YOGYAKARTA – Partnering
with Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT), the Grab Berkah program continues after Ramadan.
On Friday (5/13/2022), hundreds of meal packages were distributed to informal
workers and elderlies at a nursing home around Malioboro Street.
Samuel Adrian from Grab Istimewa said that the meal packages given to
the beneficiaries were prepared by 77 merchants partnering with Grab Food. The
distribution took place at five points, namely Malioboro Street, Beringharjo
Market, Al-Ma’un Mosque in Pringgokusuman, HIMMATU in Bantul, Ibnu Fattah
Orphanage, and Jalan Wates in Kulonprogo.
“Over 700 meal packages were served. The meals were donated by
merchants, restaurants, as well as loyal Grab customers, and we then
collaborated with the ACT team to distribute them. Hopefully, this food
distribution can be a blessing for the people in Yogyakarta and its
surroundings,” explained Samuel Adrian, Friday (5/13/2022).
The ACT Special Region of Yogyakarta Branch Manager Nasrudin who was also present at the distribution at Beringharjo Market also greeted the
informal workers and pedicab drivers. Nasrudin hoped that the program can
inspire and ignite the generosity of the people of Yogyakarta.
"Hopefully, this will ignite our spirit to build togetherness and
to prove that the people of Yogyakarta are people who like to share," said
Nasrudin.
A pedicab driver on Malioboro street, Poniman, expressed his gratitude
for the meals provided by Grab and ACT. He was happy because he was able to
save his lunch money.
“Alhamdulillah, they gave me food today. It can save my expenses. We
hope that ACT, Grab, and all the contributors will be blessed with safety and
ease in their activities and we pedicab drivers can also make our living
smoothly,” he prayed. []
