ACTNews, PIDIE JAYA – The Government of Pidie Jaya Regency handed over donations amounting IDR 402.401.000 for Palestine through Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) and Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) Pidie Jaya. The assistance was handed over in the Regent Office of Pidie Jaya, Monday (7/5/2021).
The generosity came from all elements of the community in Pidie Jaya Regency which was collected from various villages, pedestrians, offices, and others. The donation was handed over by the Regent of Pidie Jaya, H Aiyub Bin Abbas to the Branch Manager of ACT Aceh Zulfurqan. The ceremony was attended by the local officials.
“Alhamdulillah, from the joint support of the entire society in Pidie Jaya, today, we are handing over these donations for humanitarian assistance in Palestine with a total of IDR 402,402,000," said Aiyub Bin Abbas.
The collected donations will be used for Waqf Well construction in Palestine, as requested by the donors. The water well construction was chosen because many public facilities, including water pipelines in Palestine, have been bombarded by Israeli forces.
“The water sources in Palestine have been polluted. Thus, new water sources are required. Through this assistance, we can see the strong solidarity among Muslim brothers and sisters without being limited by distance and time,” explained Zulfurqan, the Branch Manager of ACT Aceh while being interviewed by media on the location.
Until now, there are still many things to do to recover Gaza. Almost the entire life sectors are affected by aggression and require assistance. Various waqf programs have been carried out by Global Wakaf-ACT to revive life in Gaza. Zulfurqan invites the benefactors to take part in the act of kindness. “We have to believe that when we help people who are in difficulties, Insha Allah, our life will also be made easier,” said Zulfirqan.
This Waqf Well construction in Palestine will not be the first one that is initiated by the people of Aceh. In March 2021, through Global Wakaf-ACT, the people of Aceh also have built two Waqf Wells in Al-Musaddar and Alshayma region in the Gaza Strip.
