ACTNews, TANGGAMUS - The joy of Eid Al-Adha was felt by hundreds of people with disabilities under the auspices of LKS Alamanda Tanggamus. In such a warm atmosphere, they enjoyed meat stews and curries that were previously cooked by Global Qurban - ACT Lampung volunteers.
The gathering on Friday (7/31) afternoon was part of the Qurbani Kitchen event located in the front yard of LKS Alamanda Office Block 13, Gisting Atas, Gisting Subdistrict, Tanggamus. This event was done in accordance to the COVID-19 protocol. Dozens of people with disabilities across Tanggamus Regency, such as Gisting, Kota Agung, Talang Padang, Air Naningan, and Sumberejo, attended the event.
Not only serving delicious qurbani dishes, the Qurbani Kitchen also provided qurbani meat packages for people with disabilities who were present at the time. Thus, they can cook the qurbani meat at their respective homes to be enjoyed by their families.
“The Qurbani Kitchen and the distribution of the qurbani meat was part of the Labbaik Berqurban Terbaik program. The qurbani animals were slaughtered at the ZBeef Indonesia Slaughterhouse in Susunan Baru, Bandar Lampung. Qurbani meat was then sent to the impoverished beneficiaries in several regencies and cities. May the good deeds of the donors, partners, volunteers, and beneficiaries be accepted by Allah," stated Dian Eka Darma Wahyuni Global Qurban - ACT Lampung Branch Manager.
Bunda Ros, a social activist from the LKS Alamanda Tanggamus thanked the benefactors who have relentlessly helped the needy, including people with disabilities under the auspices of LKS Alamada. She hoped that this activity can continue in the Eid Al-Adha in the upcoming years.
"We pray that the Global Qurban – ACT Lampung team will remain healthy and can do their humanitarian activities. In the midst of this pandemic, I appreciate the sincere work of my friends the volunteers. When most people don’t even do outdoor activities anymore, you came all the way to Tanggamus to reach the beneficiaries," said Bunda Ros.
Dian was also very grateful to be able to meet directly with people with disabilities in Tanggamus Regency. Despite their disabilities, their passion and spirit in struggling to support their respective families is unfaltering.
"We hope that people with disabilities can get a better economy through collaborative programs initiated by LKS Alamanda and Global Qurban - ACT Lampung," concluded Dian.
