ACTNews, JAKARTA – The increasing cases of COVID-19 in many areas can no longer be prevented. To mitigate the surging COVID-19 cases, several countries have imposed another lockdown.

However, the impact of lockdown is slowly appearing. In Malaysia, for example, as reported by Tempo, during the first five months of 2021, the neighboring country experienced a spike in suicide cases. The local Health Ministry said the cause was the pandemic.

The situation is getting worse. Several videos and pictures on social media showed some residents who are in need of help. They waved the white flag as a sign that they needed assistance. One of such instances happened in Petaling Jaya.

Jambu Nathan Kanagasabai (64) is one of many Malaysians affected by the lockdown. He put a white flag on the fence of his house. This was done after knowing the campaign to be carried out as a sign that they needed help.[]
