ACTNews, PONOROGO – A landslide that was caused by heavy rain occurred in RT 03 RW 04 of Tugurejo Village, Slahung District, Ponorogo Regency, East Java on Friday (11/19/2021). The disaster affects 10 families or 31 people to evacuate including a woman who is three months pregnant.
Responding to the disaster, ACT Ponorogo team immediately went to the location to carry out an assessment and provide first aid to the survivors. A number of assistance including meal packages and staple food was distributed that day.
"But for now, the survivors have not been able to find a proper place to stay. Most of them are still staying in neighboring houses," said Mohamad Abda Ramadhan from ACT Ponorogo Team, Monday (11/22/2021).
Abda continued, currently, survivors require assistance including food, sleeping mats, blankets, and other urgent needs.
The survivors no longer have assets left but except clothes on their bodies. “They also need medicines, clothes, and infant needs. We continuously strive to assist the survivors. However, it won’t succeed without support from the benefactors. Therefore, let’s help our brothers and sisters who face difficulty,” said Abda.
The landslide has caused the connecting road between Tugurejo Village in Slahung District, Ponorogo Regency, and Gemaharjo Village in Tegalombo District, Pacitan Regency to be cut off. Furthermore, a number of agricultural lands were damaged by the soil.
