ACTNews, SAMPANG - Global Wakaf - ACT along with Yayasan Penguatan Peran
Pesantren Indonesia (YP3I) visited a number of pesantrens (Islamic boarding schools) on Madura Island. The aim is
to introduce the collaborative programs initiated by the two institutions,
namely Productive Food Waqf and the Humanitarian Ship program launched by ACT.
"Insha
Allah, we will also distribute seven tons of Waqf Rice and Waqf Drinking Water
to the students, the mosque congregants, the teachers, etc. so that the
benefits of this Productive Food Waqf program can be enjoyed by all people,
"said Muhammad Yusuf Misbah, commonly called Gus Yusuf, as the Secretary
of YP3I on Thursday (1/22/2021) before the departure.
These visits were met with positive responses from a number of Muslim scholars who received them. One of them was Kiai Fudholi, a Muslim scholar who is also the Secretary General of Aliansi Ulama Madura who received Global Wakaf – ACT and YP3I team at Misdat UQ Islamic Boarding School, Panyepen Village, Jrengik District, Sampang Regency.

"Humanitarian
programs, especially in Madura, maybe even in Indonesia, are very much needed
by the community especially in these times. So, let's inform the community
about these productive programs, including programs launched by YP3I and Global
Wakaf - ACT. Alhamdulillah, we (ulama) Madura really welcome it, "said
Kiai Fudholi.
He is also very
grateful for the Productive Food Waqf program because it aims to support food
sovereignty. "Masha Allah, if we are food-sovereign, Insha Allah, we will
not depend on any other country, starting from the grassroots. We really
support this and we hope that it will run smoothly,” hoped Kiai Fudholi.
Gus Yusuf also
invited the community to participate in creating synergy with these pesantrens.
According to him, there are hundreds of thousands of Islamic boarding school students
who are ready to move towards a better civilization for Indonesia and the
world.
"That's
why the success of this movement need to be supported by your generosity.
Let's support this movement through Global Wakaf - ACT to create food
sovereignty. Insha Allah, if we create sovereignty for our agriculture, animal
farming and economy, our country will be a prosperous, and well-developed,"
concluded Gus Yusuf. []
