Quran Copies as Ramadan Gifts for Rohingya Children Affected by Fire

Aksi Cepat Tanggap distributed Quran copies to 400 Rohingya refugee children at the Balukhali Camp, Friday (4/16/2021). They are victims of fire that broke out before Ramadan. It is hoped that the Qur'an assistance can support the Rohingya children to recite and study the Quran in the month of Ramadan.

ACTNews, COX'S BAZAR – Ramadan is a month that is full of blessings, a month of mercy and forgiveness. Every Muslim competes to increase his or her acts of worship, including their Quran recitation. However, for Rohingya refugee children in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, it isn’t easy for them to worship because the fire that broke out a few days before Ramadan had destroyed many of their belongings, including their Quran copies.

To support them, Aksi Cepat Tanggap delivered Quran copies that have been donated as a form of endowment (waqf). A total of 400 Quran copies were distributed on Friday (4/16/2021). Firdaus Guritno from Global Humanity Response - Aksi Cepat Tanggap explained that Rohingya refugee children had limited access to education. They take informal education in madrasas around the camp with only limited facilities.

"With this assistance, hopefully, the Rohingya refugee children will be even more active in learning the Qur'an. Even in the midst of their limitations, they can spend time reading the Qur'an every day,” said Firdaus. []
