ACTNews, CENTRAL MALUKU – Aksi Cepat
Tanggap (ACT) Maluku continued to support the need of santris who are in dire
need. Through the Rice for Indonesian Santri (BERISI) program, ACT Maluku has
once again distributed a ton of rice. This time, the rice distribution reached Al-Anshor
Islamic Boarding School in Central Maluku on Tuesday (1/14).
Al-Anshor Islamic Boarding School was
established by Ustaz Imam Abdurrahim
Rumbara in 2005. This school was originally just a place of learning for
orphans and poor children. There was only one classroom for the elementary
school students and one prayer room. There were only around 14 students who were
mostly the survivors of the conflict that erupted in 2004.
As time went by, the number of the students
increased. The founder of the pesantren
then decided to build a dormitory for the students funded by several
benefactors. Al-Anshor Islamic Boarding School is located in Liang Village,
Salahutu Subdistrict, Central Maluku Regency. There are currently 128 students
in Al-Anshor Islamic Boarding School, and they are free of any cost. This
Islamic boarding school is supported by several donors and donations from the
local residents for its operational costs.
The buildings of Al-Anshor Islamic School were
affected by the earthquake on 26 September 2019. The students had to study in
tents, mosques and even the kitchen.
ACT Maluku returned to the Al-Anshor
Islamic Boarding School for the second time to give a ton of rice to the
students. Previously, ACT Maluku distributed rice in this Islamic School in
November 2019.
"Thanks to ACT for giving us rice. We
only eat twice a day here, "said Baharudin, an Al-Anshor Islamic boarding
school student. []
