ACTNews, KANIFING - Global Wakaf is back to bring happiness in Africa. This
time, thousands of copies of the Quran were delivered to students in Serrekunda,
Brikama, Basumbala, Kanifing City, Gambia.
Andy Noor
Faradiba from the Global Humanity Response-ACT reported that the Quran
distribution lasted for a week from November 13 to 20. "Almost all
students who get the new Quran copies come from poor families. Most of them do
not have their own Quran copies and usually use the old ones belonging to their
schools in turn.
Lamin Jerreh
Bass (34), one of the teachers in the Serrekunda area, expressed his gratitude
for the new Qurans because it is very useful for students and families in the
area.
"Of the 18
members of our family, only two have jobs as teachers. The highest education in
our family is high school. Thirteen members of our families are under 18 years
of age. Alhamdulillah, we benefit so much from this program, especially my
younger siblings." he concluded. []
