– Dozens of students from the Hidayatut Thullab Islamic Education Institute
in Bangka Belitung Darat Village, Southeast Pontianak District, Pontianak City,
West Kalimantan, received waqf Quran copies from Global Wakaf – Aksi Cepat
Tanggap on Wednesday (11/17/2021).
The institution,
which was founded by Ustaz Abdul Sallam in 2009, has a Quran memorization (hifz) program. Hence, they need Quran
copies for the students. In addition, 53 students at this institution also
learn how to read Islamic classical texts.
“The students only
need to pay IDR 25,000 for the school’s needs such as board markers and
erasers. However, if they can’t afford it, we won’t charge them,” said Mohammad
Muslim, one of Hidayatut Thullab teachers.
Muslim added that
the teachers work voluntarily without expecting any payment. Most of them are alumni
of the institution. "Because the alumni have a sense of belonging to this
institution, and there is an emotional attachment," he explained.
Muslim hoped that
the community will continue to support Hidayatut Thullab's work, including by
providing Quran copies. "Insha Allah, if the people here continue to
support our struggle, our school will continue to thrive Insha Allah,” said
Muslim. []
