ACTNews, BAIDOA - Hundreds of qurbani animals were slaughtered by Global Qurban - ACT for the poor and needy in Africa. Thousands of families benefited from the qurbani distribution.

On Sunday (8/2), around 40 qurbani animals were slaughtered for IDP in Baidoa, Somalia by Global Qurban – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) with the help of the locals. The meat was then distributed to IDP in their camps.

Andi Noor Faradiba, Global Qurban – ACT’s Person In Charge for Africa reported, Baidoa is one of the locations that regularly receive qurbani meat from Global Qurban – ACT because the region is often hit by prolonged drought and acute famine.

"Somalian IDP desperately need humanitarian assistance, including foodstuffs. They cannot eat meat all the time. Therefore, this Eid al-Adha, we pun an effort to make them happy, ”said Faradiba.

Baidoa is the capital of Somalia's Southern Bay region. Baidoa incurred significant damage in the early 1990s, following the start of the civil war. []
