ACTNews, HULU SUNGAI TENGAH – The joy of this year's Qurbani was not only felt by those who live in the city but also by residents who live in rural areas including converts in Hinas Kiri Village, Batang Alai Timur, Hulu Sungai Tengah. The converts who live in Meratus Mountains areas celebrated Eid ul-Adha with Global Qurban-ACT.
The converts have a low income. Hence, on the occasion of Eid ul-Adha, Global Qurban-ACT provided them with the best Qurbani meat from benefactors.
The provided Qurbani meat at Hinas Kiri was from the collaboration of Global Qurban-ACT with Dewan Dakwah Islam Indonesia (DDII), Pelajar Islam Indonesia (PII), and Bauntung Batuah Management. A warm welcome came from the residents.
"Even though Muslims are a minority here, the togetherness still goes well," said Ustaz Masjidi, Religious Counselor at Hinas Kiri.
Global Qurban-ACT distributed hundreds of meat packages to converts, poor people, the elderly, and orphans in Hinas Kiri.
“We hope that Qurbani in this village will continue in the following years. Residents were very enthusiastic because this activity helped in spreading the religion of Islam,” added Ustaz Masjidi.
Head of Global Qurban-ACT South Kalimantan Zainal Arifin said that the Qurbani meat for converts in Hinas Kiri Village was part of an effort to spread Islam and to share with others.
“The implementation of this Qurbani is a blessing for us. Apart from being a form of gratitude for the wealth we have and sharing with others, Qurbani is also a means of education for the people," said Zainal.
