ACTNews, IDLIB - Up to 200 goats were slaughtered for Syrian IDP in Idlib, Saturday (8/1). Firdaus Guritno, Global Qurban – ACT’s Program Coordinator for Syria reported that the qurbani meat was distributed to IDP in Salqin, a Syrian town in Idlib governorate.
"Insha Allah, we will sacrifice more than 200 goats. In addition to Salqin, the slaughtering of the qurbani animals will also be done in the city of Idlib," Firdaus said. After the qurbani animals were slaughtered, Firdaus hurried to camp Abu Talha where many IDP live in tents. That afternoon, the IDP children happily welcomed FIrdaus and his team.
The Land of Shaam (Palestine, Syria, and its surrounding areas) is one of Global Qurban – ACT’s meat distribution area. Salqin was chosen as one of the distribution areas because the number of IDP that is increasing daily. Aksi Cepat Tanggap is also building IDP shelters there.
"After the qurbani season, we hope that generous benefactors will continue supporting ACT in helping Syrian IDP and refugees through our humanitarian programs,” Firdaus said. In addition to Idlib, Global Qurban – ACT also distributed qurbani for Syrian refugees in Reyhanli.
