ACTNews, JAKARTA — The Covid-19 pandemic that has lasted more than a year is identical with various forms of restriction. These are officially regulated in the PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) policy. For example, the restrictions on social activities, public transportation, homecoming, mobility between regions, income due to the slumping economy during the pandemic, and restrictions on worship in public spaces.
Entering the moment of Qurbani, restrictions during the pandemic seem to be a separation barrier in maximizing this worship. Qurbani can be carried out to the fullest even though the pandemic is still engulfing Indonesia and the world. Especially with the large number of underprivileged people who need food during the pandemic, the benefits of Qurbani are urgently felt by the wider community.
Based on a survey conducted by a professor from the Department of Family and Consumer Science from the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) Professor Euis Sunarti said looking from the data, coping strategies of the respondents (77,5% of respondents) chose to save food spending for the family. 59,7% chose to buy cheaper costing food. In the second month, food strategies that respondents apply do not significantly change, and even a higher percentage of respondents now buy cheaper costing food, to 69%. The data shows that the COVID-19 pandemic is threatening the continuity of family welfare.
Meanwhile, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) stated possibly, as many as 132 million people may go hungry in 2020 as a result of the economic recession triggered by the pandemic.
Therefore, welcoming the Day of Sacrifice, Global Qurban-ACT invites Muslims to maximize the Qurbani with the spirit of Qurbani Without Limits. ACT President Ibnu Khajar explained, Qurbani Without Limits means maximizing the Qurbani that are not limited by anything, both in terms of quantity, kindness, benefits, and blessings beyond numbers, social society, and boundaries of the nation. Although the time of Qurbani is done during Eid al-Adha and tasyrik ( the 11th, 12th, 13th day of the month of Zulhijjah) days, the kindness and blessings accompany the providers of Qurbani animals, the Qurbani benefactors, and the Qurbani beneficiaries.
“Now, Qurbani can be done from anywhere. The development of technology makes it easier for everyone to do Qurbani. Global Qurban-ACT has also created a system that makes it easier for the community to expand the benefits so that it allows anyone to make a Qurbani and become a seller of Qurbani. Then, the qurban distribution system crosses state boundaries," said Ibnu, Monday (5/31/2021).
Qurbani Without Limits in terms of distribution of Qurbani meat is not limited by borders of nations. This means that the distribution of Qurbani animals will break through the blockade of Gaza, break through the drought in Africa, break through poverty in Yemen, reach the edge of the country, remote areas, and poor people who have minimal access.
“As a social function, Qurbani can be enjoyed by the underprivileged people who have never tasted Qurbani meat, who are in trouble due to natural disasters, humanitarian attacks, and people who are starving. Qurbani Without Limits is ready to make them smile," continued Ibnu. He also hopes that the Covid-19 pandemic should not hinder and limit Muslims to do Qurbani because people can still do Qurbani without leaving the house.
