Ramadan Food Packages Delivered to Transportation Workers at Cileungsi Bus Station

Since the pandemic broke out, the transportation workers at the CIleungsi Bus Station have lost most of their income. Because there aren’t many passengers, the workers have to work in shifts. At times, they only work one day a week.

ACTNews, BOGOR REGENCY – The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has paralyzed several business sectors, one of which is public transportation. At the Cileungsi Bus Station, for example, the number of operating buses drops during the pandemic. Consequently, many transportation workers there have had their income dropped because they have to work alternately.

Seeing this condition, the Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) and Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) of East Bogor decided to distribute aid to the transportation workers at the Cileungsi Bus Station. Aid packages containing foodstuffs were distributed on Friday (4/15/2022) as a form of commitment to help transportation workers.

Nanang, the field coordinator at the Cileungsi Bus Station who took part in the aid distribution expressed his thankfulness to the team for always helping transportation workers.

“Alhamdulillah, we have been assisted since the beginning of the pandemic by the ACT and MRI Branch of East Bogor. Last year, they gave us rice, soaps, and other items. In this month of Ramadan, foodstuff packages were given to the transportation workers at the Cileungsi Bus Station. Alhamdulillah, they have always cared for us,” he said. He also prayed for ACT and MRI East Bogor and their generous donors. He also invited the community to support ACT's humanitarian programs.

"Continue to help them to survive in the midst of this pandemic with the best assistance through the Indonesia Dermawan website," said Mahathir Qadafi from the ACT Bogor Branch. []
